Frequently Asked Questions

Does coffee give you energy?

Coffee can give you an energy boost because it contains caffeine, a stimulant known to increase your mental alertness, metabolic rate, and athletic performance. Caffeine works by temporarily blocking a neurotransmitter in your brain that makes you feel tired, while simultaneously signaling your body to release energy-boosting adrenaline.

Is coffee good for you?

Drinking coffee in moderation is healthy. Coffee is a rich source of antioxidants, which fight free radical damage to protect your cells from ageing and degeneration. Studies also show that moderate coffee drinkers are less likely to develop diseases such as Parkinson’s, type 2 diabeties, and liver cirrhosis.

How much coffee should you drink per day?

The Health Promotion Board of Singapore recommends about 3 to 5 cups of instant coffee per day for most healthy adults. It's in this range that you stand to reap the health benefits of coffee. Drinking more than this amount of coffee per day is not recommended.

Does coffee have calories?

Coffee does not have calories on its own. However, if you add ingredients like milk and sugar to your cup of coffee, those ingredients will add some calories. The lowest calorie option is plain black coffee.

Where does coffee come from?

Coffee is thought to have originated in Ethiopia, and is now grown in hot climates around the world. Brazil, Vietnam, and Colombia are the top three coffee producers. Coffee beans are actually the seeds of coffee berries, the bright red fruits that grow on coffee trees. The drink coffee is made by roasting and processing harvested coffee beans.

Trace your positive impact

Our instant coffee is processed in a factory in Vietnam, which prioritises reducing and recycling water.

For example, by reusing steam condensation captured during the coffee drying process.

By focusing on water conservation, the factory reduced its water usage by 38% from 2014 to 2019.
