Traditionally, muesli is made from rolled oats with various other healthy ingredients which can include nuts, seeds, grains, or fruit. Sometimes honey or fruit juice is added to sweeten the dish. It was invented around the year 1900 by the Swiss physician Maximilian Bircher-Benner, and later became popular in many countries around the world.
Muesli was invented to be a health food, so it is nutritious by design. While its nutritional benefits vary depending on the exact ingredients used, in general, muesli is high in fibre, low in sugar, and rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It provides long-lasting energy, promotes digestive health, and is good for your heart. A wonderful way to start each day!
Though quinoa isn’t a very commonly found in muesli, we selected it as the star ingredient in our Nutty Muesli because this delicious superfood is loaded with nutritional value. Much higher in fibre than most other grains, quinoa is also high in protein, and contains all nine essential amino acids. Plus, it’s a rich source of essential minerals such iron, potassium, folate, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, and zinc.
To keep the sugar content of our Nutty Muesli low, we do not use dried fruit, fruit juice, or added cane sugar as ingredients. The only thing in this muesli besides wholesome grains and crunchy nuts is a touch of honey for some natural sweetness.
Overuse of pesticides makes soils unhealthy and less productive, requiring more work for lower crop yields.
We provided organic farming training to 1868 quinoa growers in Peru, resulting in healthier soils.
After adopting organic practices, the farmers can now grow better quality quinoa and sell it for higher prices.

Outside of hazelnut season, small hazelnut farmers in Turkey typically grow a variety of different crops. But due to lack of awareness about better farm management practices, and extreme climate conditions making growth difficult, the farmers were putting in more work for diminishing returns with every passing year.
We arranged free 1-on-1 training for 85 farmers, where they learned better techniques in areas such as soil nutrition, fertilization, pest control, pruning, and harvesting. After applying these new methods, the farmers reported a marked improvement in both the yield and quality of their crops.
Almond production consumes high amounts of energy. This energy typically comes from fossil fuel sources, which generate carbon emissions that contribute to climate change.
Our almond orchards in Australia have transitioned to renewable solar and wind sources for 75% of their energy needs, and aim to keep reducing their dependency on fossil fuels.
